pirate

So, I kind of have an idea of what I'm doing. I got the cheeks. and the nose. I just have to figure out what I want the profile of this guy to look like, and I should be ok finishing the eyes and ears and mouth. As for the body, I took plenty of notes on how to make it from one object or as a conglomeration of shapes, so i should be ok on that part as well.

So, my pirate. his face. he looks like a wombat. I'm kind of having trouble with it. I think I might change what i'm doing. I have to draw out the rest of his body anyway. I don't know. I was all excited and prtty much knew what I was doing, but now I'm having hard time. I want to do animation, but I think I need to find some more free time to devote to working on my assignments.

sketches

So i drew a couple sketches....a few i threw out cuz i hated them, but i kept two. one is an eskimo, he is ok. but i really like my pirate. so far i have only drawn his face and half of his body. i have a hard time with bodies. i'm going to try to make it very animated looking because i took figure drawing and realistic people is not my thing....but im excited to try to make him in maya.

class

I realized that I forgot to make the speakers in my scene. oops! I think I understood everythign we covered in class about the basic hand and face. I plan on reading the manual as well to learn different ways to do things. I didn't understand about the sphere that created that clear plastic/metalic look on the cans in that one student's project that was shown in class on Wednesday (ya know, that really insanely good one). I want to be able to model stuff like that guy can. I would love to do animation for a living.

a little left...

I finished my scene in class on wednesday. I made everythign sitting at a table with some paper and a pen on it. and i have a chair. I finished the cords and buttons and all of that, so all I have left to do is the camera angle and the lighting and I am finished. I'll probably go into the lab tonight (Sunday) to finish it for class on monday. It seems like it won't be too bad to finish this assignment up.
